Launched on March 28 via Steam in Early Access, inZOI quickly gained attention across the gaming community. The game’s early popularity was further amplified when players discovered an unintended mechanic allowing them to run over and kill children. Krafton swiftly addressed the issue, calling it an "unintended bug" and releasing a patch to resolve it.
Despite this controversy, inZOI maintains a ‘very positive’ user review rating on Steam, and at its peak, attracted 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. Impressively, the game climbed to the top of Steam’s Global Top Sellers List (by revenue) just 40 minutes after launch.
The game's built-in UGC (user-generated content) platform, Canvas, also experienced explosive growth, recording more than 1.2 million participants on day one and seeing over 470,000 pieces of content uploaded during the same period.
IGN’s inZOI Early Access review awarded the title a 6/10, noting: “inZOI is a visually striking life simulator with plenty of ambition, but not enough depth as of its Early Access launch.”
Krafton credits much of the game’s success to its pre-launch promotional efforts and proactive engagement with the player community, which helped build trust and anticipation ahead of release. The publisher noted that the global showcase and demo build were particularly effective in drawing widespread interest.
In a statement, CEO CH Kim expressed enthusiasm about the game’s reception: “We are grateful and excited to present inZOI to players around the world through Early Access. We will continue to actively communicate with players and foster inZOI as Krafton’s long-term franchise IP.”

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out a series of major updates, including the introduction of new cities, mod support, and additional gameplay features. All content updates and DLC will be offered free of charge until the full release.
In response to player feedback, the development team has committed to addressing reported issues quickly through targeted hotfixes throughout April. While some players have voiced concerns regarding the current state of the game, Krafton acknowledges the immense scale of the inZOI community as a “next-level experience,” while admitting they’re still “going through some trial and error in finding the optimal means of communication.”
