The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly enhanced visuals compared to the PS5 version but also offers a more stable performance, sparking discussions within the gaming community about the necessity for an update on Sony's console. Currently, the PS5 version struggles with blurry visuals when set to performance mode, leaving base console owners eagerly awaiting patches. According to game director Naoki Hamaguchi, enhancements are indeed feasible within the technical constraints of the PS5.
"After releasing the promo for the PC version, we received numerous requests for a similar update for the PS5 version," Hamaguchi stated. "We would like to address these requests at some point, within the limits of what's technically possible with the PS5's performance."
Fans are hopeful that Square Enix will heed their requests and enhance the visual experience on consoles. While the team diligently works on the sequel, Hamaguchi has asked for patience from the community, promising more details in the near future. He highlighted that 2024 was a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment in the trilogy, which garnered attention and awards worldwide. Looking ahead, the third installment of Final Fantasy VII is set to face unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fan base.
Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI this year, acknowledging the pressure on the Rockstar Games team following the phenomenal success of GTA V. He extended his support, recognizing the high expectations they face.
