Atlus officially confirmed at the recent Xbox Game Showcase that Persona 4 Revival is indeed in development—a long-awaited remake of the beloved RPG classic. However, not all reactions to the 40-second reveal trailer were positive.

Some players voiced concerns regarding the visual presentation, pointing out issues with graphics quality, color grading, animation, and lighting. Others expressed disappointment over the lack of concrete details such as a release date or confirmation of a Nintendo Switch 2 version.

"Man, the graphics look like stock Unreal lol," one player commented. Another added, "Honestly, almost looks fanmade (don't hit me)." A third chimed in: "Highly underwhelming trailer, lol."

Given that rumors about this remake have circulated for years, some fans speculated that the teaser was released primarily to confirm the project's existence rather than showcase its full potential.

"This is a 'damn, here you go' ass trailer," one fan remarked, while another suggested: "Feels like they threw this thing together after the VAs said they weren't returning. I could imagine they walked over to marketing and asked them to throw together a 30-second clip the same day."

Following the announcement, P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada took to social media to reassure fans that Atlus remains deeply committed to the future of the Persona series.

"We are very pleased to announce the release of Persona 4 Revival. We look forward to sharing even more information in due time," Wada stated. "Persona 4 has inspired numerous spin-offs including TV anime, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. It’s a title that has been close to Atlus for many years and holds a special place in my heart.

"We are currently working on this project with all our passion and love. We are confident that this will be a fresh and exciting experience for both newcomers and longtime fans alike."

Wada also emphasized ongoing efforts across the studio: "Additionally, we are actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio. We are working hard to meet the expectations of fans around the world, and our work is progressing well." He concluded by thanking supporters and encouraging everyone to stay tuned for further updates.
