Netflix will soon offer interactive party games you and your friends can play via mobile

Netflix is preparing to launch party games

Pictionary, Boggle and other well-known titles will be added to the selection

This will be introduced over the next few months

Netflix's expansion into gaming has had varied outcomes over the years. Although their goals of establishing a true AAA studio have appeared to face challenges, their mobile library remains very robust. Now, regular Netflix users may soon have access to new party game options.

If you've played something like Jackbox on TV, this will sound familiar. In a positive way, as all you need is one of these upcoming party games that are scheduled to be available during the holidays on a television. Other participants can simply use their phones to join in, without needing any extra devices.

Although it may not have the instant fun of Jackbox on mobile, this selection includes some well-known titles. Pictionary: Game Night, Boggle Party and an original social deduction game called Party Crashers: Fool your Friends.

It's somewhat surprising that it has taken this long for a more multiplayer-focused approach like this to appear on Netflix. But it is definitely welcomed. If there's one thing you can say about the Jackbox series, it's that they aren't cheap (even on mobile). So something more accessible is appreciated.

The release of the Netflix party games will be done in stages, so check a platform near you to see if they are available. For the rest of us, we'll have to wait until we can gather friends for a session of Pictionary on our next night in.

If you prefer playing alone, you'll be pleased to know that mobile already offers great options. But if you're looking for something new to play, why not check out our review of Set a Watch to see what this solo board game has to offer?
