Capcom has set a new milestone with Monster Hunter Wilds, which surpassed 8 million units sold within just three days of its release, making it the fastest-selling title in the company’s history. Despite some bugs currently present in the game, the overwhelming demand showcases the immense popularity of the Monster Hunter franchise.

Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has officially become Capcom’s fastest-selling game ever, achieving over 8 million sales in just 72 hours post-launch. The company made the announcement on their official website, celebrating this historic achievement as a testament to the global appeal of the series and the success of their marketing strategy.

According to earlier reports from SteamDB, MH Wilds saw a strong start on PC, reaching more than 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam shortly after launch, despite receiving mixed player reviews. Capcom credits this rapid success to a combination of strategic global promotions, participation in major gaming expos, and the pre-launch open beta that gave players a first-hand look at the game's features.

Critical Bug Fixes Rolled Out in Recent Update

In response to early player feedback, Capcom has deployed a hotfix patch—Version 1.000.04.00—to address several critical issues affecting gameplay progression. On March 4, 2025, the official Monster Hunter support account, Monster Hunter Status, confirmed via Twitter (X) that the update is now live across all platforms.

Among the most notable fixes are:

  • Resolved an issue where the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features wouldn't unlock even after meeting the required conditions.
  • Fixed a bug preventing access to the Monster Field Guide.
  • Patched a game-breaking error that hindered story progression in Chapter 5-2, titled “A World Turned Upside Down.”

Players are advised to ensure they have the latest version of the game installed before attempting to play online.

However, not all reported issues have been resolved in this patch. Some known bugs still persist, such as network errors when using an SOS Flare mid-quest and Palico blunt weapons failing to deal stun or exhaust damage. These multiplayer-related issues are expected to be addressed in a future update.

As Capcom continues to refine the experience, Monster Hunter Wilds remains a dominant force in the gaming world, proving that even with early technical hurdles, the game’s core appeal is stronger than ever.
