Ghost of Yōtei Unveils New Trailer
Launching October 2, 2025

Sucker Punch Productions and PlayStation have confirmed Ghost of Yōtei—the highly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima—will arrive on October 2, 2025. The announcement came alongside a cinematic trailer titled "The Onryō’s List," revealing key story elements and gameplay snippets before culminating in the release date reveal.
The game follows Atsu, a warrior seeking vengeance against the ruthless Yōtei Six—The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito—who slaughtered her family in the frozen lands of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido). This standalone sequel takes place three centuries after the original, introducing expanded combat mechanics, an arsenal of new weapons, and deeper exploration systems.
Track the Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei empowers players to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order they choose, forging their own path of retribution. In an April 23 PlayStation.Blog post, Sucker Punch detailed Ezo’s evolved open world, offering greater freedom than its predecessor. Beyond hunting targets, players can claim bounties, train with weapon masters, and uncover hidden skills.
Series veterans will recognize beloved mechanics like the Guiding Wind, now joined by new systems such as dynamic campfire building. The developers emphasized player agency in exploring Ezo’s vast wilderness, teasing additional updates in the months ahead.
