At the Evo 2025 fighting game tournament, Arc System Works, the developer of Guilty Gear Strive, unveiled the first gameplay of Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and announced her release as a DLC guest character on August 21.
Lucy is the final fighter in Strive's Season Pass 4, directly adapted from the highly popular Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Netflix anime, which released after CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077. Players familiar with the RPG will immediately recognize the hacking mechanics shown in the gameplay trailer below.

Time freezes as Lucy chooses from several Quickhacks, including Algorithm Malfunction, Optics Inhibition, and Energy Siphon. She uses Cyberdeck Ram in the same limited capacity as seen in Cyberpunk 2077.
We then observe her opponent suffering from hacking debuffs, indicated by icons displayed above their character. These icons match those in Cyberpunk 2077 and seem to fade relatively quickly.
Does Lucy signal the end of DLC for Guilty Gear Strive? Even after four years since launch, more content appears to be on the way. Arc System Works tweeted that Guilty Gear Strive "will continue… we look forward to your continued support."

This message was accompanied by a video revealing that Strive has reached 3.5 million players since release and announcing Guilty Gear Strive 2.00, scheduled for 2026. The exact impact on gameplay remains unknown for now. More intriguingly, the video teased two new characters, with fans speculating they may be Robo-Ky and Jam Kuradoberi.
