Deft Machine

A dynamic platformer blended with a 2D physics-based machine simulator

You operate a quirky off-road vehicle featuring a compact cabin. This machine includes a three-axle motor drive, a vertical spring mechanism, a small turbojet engine, and a heavy rotating mace as its primary weapon. It also comes with a confined trunk offering several slots for storing weapons and supplies.

Take control of this agile machine to battle enemy creatures, smash objects, balance on moving platforms, and collect guns and items.

Core game features and mechanics:

✔ Game object interactions rely heavily on a realistic 2D physics engine.

✔ Nearly all dynamic objects can be destroyed (broken platforms are regenerated).

✔ Your vehicle's health decreases when hit, falling from high places, or being crushed by objects.

✔ Every control action—except for trunk use—consumes a certain amount of fuel.

✔ Wheel motor torque, jump force, turbo thrust, and gunfire vary with time.

✔ Your machine can gain temporary positive or negative abilities.

✔ Restore health, fuel, and time, or switch weapons on the go.

✔ Skill is required to control the vehicle effectively and stay balanced on moving platforms.

✔ Objects stuck in the wheels? It's a "controllable bug"—just use the mace.

Two game modes are available:

1. CAMPAIGN

You are dispatched to a distant, unnamed planet to test your vehicle's durability and your driving skills. Break boxes, find keys, collect them to unlock the exit door, then locate and enter it to complete each level and advance. Use your machine’s agility and your own intelligence to succeed.

Recommended for experienced players.

Campaign features and mechanics:

✔ Heavily dependent on in-game gold transactions.

✔ Pay gold to enter a level and earn gold as a reward for winning.

✔ Purchase weapons and supplies (health, fuel, time, boosts) from the store before beginning a level.

✔ Sell excess trunk guns and items via the store.

✔ Earn extra gold in the "Catch Gold" mini-game.

✔ Be careful—you could run OUT OF GOLD with no way to earn more, forcing you to start a NEW campaign.

✔ Some randomness is involved, so a bit of luck is helpful.

✔ Your progress saves automatically (no manual save/load).

(P.S. This campaign is designed as a challenge, reminiscent of "old school games.")

2. SANDBOX

Spawn available game objects from the factory (via the on-screen button) almost anywhere on the map. Build structures, add enemies, grab weapons, and start a battle—experiment and create as you like!

Sandbox features and mechanics:

✔ Open the factory, select an object, and tap the screen to spawn it.

✔ Enable "OverSpawn" in Options to spawn objects even inside static ground (may cause rare physics glitches).

✔ Use the color picker in the factory to assign factions to enemies.

✔ Pan and zoom the camera as needed.

✔ Toggle the "F" button to enable/disable camera follow on your machine.

✔ Toggle the "P" button off to disable factory functions.

✔ Customize the factory window: move, resize, or adjust opacity.

Deft Machine is a unique and challenging 2D platformer with unconventional mechanics, combined with a realistic physics simulator—delivering a fresh and memorable gaming experience!
