What is RSTI?
The Self-Employed Workers' Social Scheme (RSTI) is a groundbreaking social cover introduced by the National Social Security Fund (CNPS) designed to protect self-employed individuals. It offers coverage against illness, accidents, maternity, and upon reaching retirement age, it provides a lifelong pension.
Who is a Self-Employed Worker?
RSTI targets all self-employed workers residing in Côte d'Ivoire, including Ivorians and foreigners. This regime safeguards a diverse range of professionals working independently, such as farmers, artisans, traders, transporters, athletes, artists, consultants, miners, non-salaried entrepreneurs, religious workers, and even Ivorians working abroad.
What are the Advantages of RSTI?
In case of illness or accident leading to temporary incapacity, self-employed workers receive income based on their declarations to the CNPS. Maternity benefits provide income for 98 days. Upon reaching the retirement age of 60, self-employed individuals are entitled to a lifelong pension. In the unfortunate event of death, this pension is transferred to their beneficiaries under specific conditions.
