Revolution Diabolique

Summon demons to seize victory in the French Revolution! Will you rise to rule, or fall to the guillotine?

Summon demons to win the French Revolution! Will you defend the Republic, revive the monarchy, claim France for yourself, or lose your head?

"Revolution Diabolique" is a 425,000-word interactive dark fantasy novel by Chris Conley. It's a text-only experience, free of graphics or sound, driven entirely by the limitless power of your imagination.

You are a demonologist in eighteenth-century France, studying the world's most perilous forbidden magic from the safety of your rural château. You can summon a stunning array of demons: some subtly haunt your enemies to confound them; others appear as monstrous horrors; some guide you to uncover even deeper cosmic secrets.

As the fires of revolution ignite, you can no longer remain aloof from politics. Every faction—monarchists, republicans, peasants, intellectuals, anarchists—craves your power. Where will you deploy your demons? Will you unleash them on the battlefield to sway the Revolution's armies, or march on Paris itself? Will you steer a political faction with your occult knowledge? Will you found a new cult devoted to demonic forces?

But all power demands a sacrifice. As you ascend, you must be prepared to give up something: your reputation, your fortune, your safety…or perhaps your very life.

When the chaos subsides, will you be the one ruling France?
