Warzone Mobile Shutdown Announced

After just a year on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is coming to an abrupt end. Activision has announced that this mobile iteration of the renowned battle royale will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content and has been removed from the App Store and Google Play as of May 18th. Real-money transactions are no longer available, and anyone who hasn't installed the game by the deadline will be unable to access it in the future.

This sudden closure marks the end of a highly anticipated mobile release that sought to deliver the complete Warzone experience to mobile users. Although the developers take pride in how closely the game mirrored its PC and console counterparts on mobile devices, it seems the title did not resonate as well with mobile gamers.

For those who have the game installed, online access and matchmaking will continue post-May 19th. However, social features will be turned off, and there's no set date for when the servers will shut down completely. The in-game store will remain open, but only for spending existing COD Points; no new purchases can be made.

As a gesture of goodwill, players with unused COD Points in Warzone Mobile can transfer them to Call of Duty: Mobile. Until August 15th, log into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account to receive double the value of your remaining Warzone Mobile COD Points, plus extra rewards.

If you haven't installed or reinstalled Warzone Mobile by May 19th, this is your final chance. Post-deadline, no refunds will be issued, and the game will become inaccessible. This serves as a stark reminder that even the most prominent franchises can struggle to achieve lasting success in the mobile gaming arena.
