The global release of Umamusume: Pretty Derby is almost here. With just 10 days until launch, the developers have shared a special announcement highlighting key features and updates coming to the international version.
Features Available at Launch in Umamusume: Pretty Derby Global Version
Let’s begin with the positive news. Landscape mode during races and a jukebox feature will be accessible from day one. The development team also plans to implement quality-of-life improvements earlier than they were introduced in the Japanese version.
One such feature is Guided Career support, which the Japanese server didn’t receive until its fourth anniversary. Additionally, cross-platform play will be available, allowing you to use the same account across both mobile and PC.
Content Rollout Will Be Accelerated
Although every event and Scout banner from the Japanese version will be included in the global release, the main difference lies in the pace of content updates. Players won’t experience long waiting periods between events or banners like in the original.
Instead, the schedule will move more quickly—though each event and banner will still run for the same duration as in Japan. That means you won’t feel rushed to finish a single event, but you also won’t get much downtime between activities.
What does this mean for players? If you’ve played gacha or JRPGs before, you already know: a faster update cycle means less time to save currency between limited banners. Free-to-play users may find it harder to secure desired characters without spending.
Other globally released games, such as Heavens Burn Red, adjusted reward systems to compensate—but no similar changes have been announced for Umamusume. Fewer breaks also mean fewer days to complete daily tasks and gather resources between events.
Only time will tell how this accelerated approach impacts the long-term health of Umamusume: Pretty Derby’s global edition. In the meantime, you can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store if you haven’t already.
