Doom 2099 is a 4-cost, 2-power card with a unique ability: "After each turn, add a DoomBot 2099 to a random location if you played (exactly) 1 card."

DoomBot 2099 (also 4-cost, 2-power) has the ability: "Ongoing: Your other DoomBots and Doom have +1 Power." Crucially, this buff applies to both DoomBot 2099s and regular Doctor Doom.

The strategy revolves around playing exactly one card per turn after summoning Doom 2099. Early placement maximizes DoomBot 2099 deployment, potentially generating significant power. Combining with cards like Magik can further amplify this effect.

Effectively, Doom 2099 can function as a 17-power card (or more) under optimal conditions.

However, two drawbacks exist: DoomBot 2099 placement is random, potentially hindering your strategy. Furthermore, Enchantress completely negates the DoomBot 2099 power boost.

Top-Tier Doom 2099 Decks in Marvel Snap

Doom 2099's one-card-per-turn requirement synergizes well with Spectrum Ongoing decks. Here's a viable example:

Ant-Man, Goose, Psylocke, Captain America, Cosmo, Electro, Doom 2099, Wong, Klaw, Doctor Doom, Spectrum, Onslaught [Untapped Deck Link Removed]

This budget-friendly deck (only Doom 2099 is a Series 5 card) offers multiple win conditions. Early Doom 2099 placement via Psylocke or Electro is ideal. Psylocke enables powerful Wong/Klaw/Doctor Doom combinations, while Electro facilitates high-cost card deployment (Onslaught, Spectrum) onto established DoomBot 2099 locations. Cosmo protects against Enchantress.

Alternatively, Patriot-style decks incorporate Doom 2099:

Ant-Man, Zabu, Dazzler, Mister Sinister, Patriot, Brood, Doom 2099, Super Skrull, Iron Lad, Blue Marvel, Doctor Doom, Spectrum [Untapped Deck Link Removed]

This economical deck (again, only Doom 2099 is Series 5) utilizes the standard Patriot strategy, deploying cards like Mister Sinister and Brood early, before transitioning to Doom 2099, Blue Marvel, and Doctor Doom or Spectrum. Zabu discounts 4-cost cards.

Flexibility is key; strategically skipping a DoomBot 2099 spawn allows for two 3-cost cards (e.g., Patriot and discounted Iron Lad) on the final turn.

However, this deck is vulnerable to Enchantress; Super Skrull serves as a counter to opposing Doom 2099 decks.

Is Doom 2099 Worth the Investment?

While Daken and Miek (released alongside Doom 2099) are relatively weak, Doom 2099 himself is a valuable addition. His power and deck-building versatility make him a meta staple. Use Collector's Tokens if available, but don't hesitate to acquire Doom 2099; he's poised to become one of Marvel Snap's most impactful cards.
