Torchlight: Infinite has just unveiled its next chapter, and it's set to revolutionize the game with the launch of Season 8: Sandlord on April 17th. This major update promises a significant overhaul, introducing new gameplay elements that will redefine how players engage with the ARPG.
One of the most exciting additions is the Cloud Oasis, a new area where economic gameplay takes center stage. Players will dive into the Sandlord mechanic, where they'll not only battle monsters but also build and manage their own aerial empire. This involves trading resources, assigning workers, and optimizing production lines to strengthen their stronghold in the skies.
Returning with a fresh twist is Thea, now featuring the Blasphemer trait. This new trait swaps her divine powers for a curse known as Desecration. Starting off weak, it scales powerfully, enhancing Erosion damage as her blessing power diminishes. Players can further tailor this trait to create builds that thrive on area-of-effect explosions and health-scaling effects, perfect for those who enjoy intricate damage-over-time strategies and synergistic setups.
Endgame content in Torchlight: Infinite is also receiving a major update. Deep Space, a key endgame area, has been completely revamped. It now boasts five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. Players can adjust their gameplay experience with the new Probes system, which allows them to increase the difficulty for a chance at better rewards, including exclusive Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
Season 8 introduces a Blending System for crafting belts, enabling players to combine Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into one slot. This opens up new avenues for deeper and more personalized builds. Additionally, a formidable new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown, offering an exhilarating challenge to players.
To celebrate this monumental update, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Players can participate in various tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
