The PC version of Stellar Blade launched just yesterday, June 11, and has already made history as Sony’s biggest single-player release on Steam.
As of now, the game has reached a peak of nearly 105,000 concurrent players—a milestone that marks its seventh all-time peak since this update began. With the weekend approaching, it's highly likely these numbers will climb even higher.
For context, Ghost of Tsushima peaked at 77,154 players, God of War at 73,529, and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered at 66,436. Among Sony-published titles, the only game with a higher concurrent player count is Helldivers 2—though it’s important to note that’s a multiplayer-focused experience.

PC players are enjoying a robust feature set, including AI upscaling through Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, support for ultrawide displays, enhanced environment textures, and full DualSense integration with haptic feedback and adaptive trigger effects. Japanese and Chinese voiceovers are also included, broadening accessibility.
Initially restricted to over 100 countries, the PC release is now available in "over 250 regions," significantly expanding its global reach. The launch has also sparked a vibrant modding community—dozens of mods have already emerged, offering gameplay tweaks, visual enhancements, and more. While many are creative and fun, not all are workplace-safe.
The game’s strong performance has secured its future: a sequel is officially confirmed. Originally released in April 2024, Stellar Blade received positive feedback for its fast-paced combat and stylish action, drawing comparisons to NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

IGN’s review awarded the game a 7/10, stating: "Stellar Blade is great in all of the most important ways for an action game, but dull characters, a lackluster story, and several frustrating elements of its RPG mechanics prevent it from soaring along with the best of the genre."
