Fans eager to dive into the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to head to Fortnite to catch the series premiere before it hits Disney+. Epic Games has announced a unique rollout for this eagerly anticipated animated spinoff, with the first two episodes set to debut exclusively within Fortnite. This move is part of Epic's broader strategy to enhance its Star Wars content during the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which promises an array of Star Wars-themed treats for players.
Starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2, fans can experience the kickoff of Tales of the Underworld with two episodes featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island. This event precedes the show's Disney+ debut by two days. Epic Games encourages fans to connect their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, offering a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While the full scope of benefits from linking accounts remains under wraps, Epic hints at "more benefits to come."
"Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision," said Epic Games President Adam Sussman. "We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come."
The window to watch these episodes on Fortnite will close on May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will go offline. The island will also host a Battle Arena, allowing players to engage in lightsaber combat against waves of enemies. Those who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series, animated in the style of The Clone Wars, focusing on Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official synopsis hints at Ventress finding a new chance at life and a new ally, while Bane confronts his past.
Disney's partnership with Fortnite extends well beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term collaboration. This partnership will bring more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits to the popular battle royale game. Among the highlights for the next season are characters like Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.
Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has continued to dominate the gaming landscape. Recent collaborations, such as the one with Sabrina Carpenter, have kept the game fresh and engaging, inviting players to swap their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
