Star Wars Prequel Game Introduces Novel Force Wielder

Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles Adds Playable Jar Jar Binks and More!

Aspyr has unveiled a surprising addition to the upcoming Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles re-release for modern consoles: the playable character, Jar Jar Binks! A new trailer showcases Jar Jar wielding a large staff in action-packed gameplay.

This isn't the only new addition to the already diverse roster of playable characters from the original 2000 release. Aspyr is significantly expanding the game's playable character lineup, with Jar Jar being just the latest reveal. The updated version also boasts features like customizable lightsaber colors and cheat code support.

The trailer highlights Jar Jar's signature chaotic style, complete with expectedly clumsy voice lines. While some might have envisioned a Darth Jar Jar-esque twist, the Gungan instead utilizes a staff in combat. Jar Jar Binks will be playable when Jedi Power Battles launches on January 23rd, with pre-orders available now.

Newly Revealed Playable Characters:

The list of newly added playable characters continues to grow. In addition to Jar Jar Binks, Aspyr has announced nine other characters, with more promised. This expanded roster includes a diverse range of characters, such as the Staff Tusken Raider, Rodian, and various droid types (Flame Droid, Destroyer Droid, Rifle Droid). Notably, Jar Jar isn't the only Gungan joining the fray, as the Gungan Guard also makes an appearance.

With the launch of Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles rapidly approaching, fans can soon experience these exciting new additions firsthand. Aspyr's past experience remastering classic Star Wars titles, such as Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, suggests a promising update to a beloved game. Let's hope this re-release delivers the nostalgic experience fans crave.
