Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!

Star Wars: Hunters, despite not even reaching its first birthday, is set to celebrate its anniversary before its servers shut down. But is there truly reason to celebrate a game's demise?

When Will Star Wars: Hunters Shut Down?

The official shutdown date is October 1st, 2025, marking a relatively short lifespan of just nine months post-launch. Players will have a few extra weeks to complete Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.

Developer and publisher Zynga will release a final content update on April 15th, introducing a new free Support Hunter, Tuya. In-app purchases will be disabled concurrently. Ranked Mode will remain accessible until the servers close, and existing seasonal events will be rerun. Players are urged to spend any remaining Crystals as no refunds will be offered.

A Predictable Outcome?

While unfortunate, the closure of Star Wars: Hunters feels somewhat inevitable. Initial delays, announced in 2020, and subsequent postponements, coupled with limited beta testing (SEA and ANZAC regions only), hinted at potential problems.

A delayed launch, lack of major console support, and a muted reception all contributed to the game's downfall. Even the design choices appear questionable; the game opted for generic original characters rather than leveraging the iconic figures of the Star Wars universe.

If you're feeling nostalgic, or want a final farewell, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
