This guide introduces new players to each upgrade and its benefits.
What are Upgrades in Alien Invasion: RPG Idle Space?
In Alien Invasion, you play as an alien that drains humans to grow its biomass. Consuming humans rewards you with meat and bones, two key currencies for upgrading your alien. Your alien can evolve through upgrades and mutations, unlocking new forms and abilities. Access the upgrade menu via the purple tentacle icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Tap this icon to open the upgrades interface.

Inside, you'll find various abilities and power-ups. You can also boost your alien's core stats to improve survival against hostile humans. Pursuing upgrades is a primary goal for every player in Alien Invasion: RPG Idle Space.
All Upgrades in Alien Invasion: RPG Idle Space
The game features multiple upgrade types, each with unique advantages. Players can choose freely from a wide range—no need to stick to just a few. Ultimately, you can enhance every aspect of your alien. Early on, resource limitations require strategic prioritization. To help, we've detailed every upgrade and its function below:
Catching Speed – Increases how quickly your alien captures humans. A timer circle shown when targeting a human indicates capture time, which varies by human type. Upgrading this lets you catch more humans in less time. Cargo Capacity – Determines how many humans you can hold at once. Higher capacity means more hunting before returning to unload at your cargo base, making this especially useful early on. Move Speed – Boosts your alien's movement rate across zones. Note this affects travel speed, not capture speed. A faster alien unloads cargo more efficiently and navigates the map with ease. Catching Tentacles – Adds an extra tentacle to capture multiple humans simultaneously. More tentacles mean faster collection of meat and bones. Catching Radius – Expands the area (shown by a white circle around your alien) in which humans can be caught. A larger radius reduces the need to chase targets and reposition constantly.
