EA's long-running mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, is nearing its end. After a twelve-year run, the game will be sunsetted by Electronic Arts.
Shutdown Timeline:
The game's in-app purchases are already unavailable. New downloads will cease on October 31st, 2024. Existing players can continue playing until January 24th, 2025, when the servers will be permanently shut down. EA expressed gratitude to its players for their decade-long support in a farewell message.
A Final Chance to Experience Springfield:
For those yet to experience the game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out lets you rebuild Springfield after Homer's accidental nuclear meltdown. Manage the town, interact with beloved characters like Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa, and even expand to Springfield Heights and run the Kwik-E-Mart. The freemium game frequently incorporated updates based on the show's storylines and real-world events. Donuts serve as the in-game currency to accelerate progress.
