Set for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and enhanced for PS5 Pro, Saros stars Rahul Kohli in a leading role and promises to deliver an intense, action-packed experience true to Housemarque’s signature style.

Revealed during today's PlayStation State of Play presentation, Saros immediately feels like a natural evolution of the studio’s design philosophy. In the game, players take on the role of Arjun Devraj, a Solatri enforcer navigating a perilous, ever-changing planet shrouded in mystery. The world is marked by a haunting eclipse and dominated by at least one massive, formidable entity—elements that strongly echo the surreal tone and atmospheric tension of Returnal.

The phrase “come back stronger” hints at a gameplay loop familiar to fans of roguelikes, while the visual spectacle of fireball barrages suggests Housemarque's continued mastery of bullet-hell mechanics and fast-paced combat.

However, Saros isn’t just a rehash of past experiences. As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, one of the core differences between Saros and Returnal lies in how progression and resources function.
