Netflix Canceled Stories Game: Still Playable

Netflix is officially ending its interactive fiction games under the Netflix Stories banner, wrapping up a brief experiment in narrative-driven gaming. This move is somewhat unexpected, as the games had built a dedicated player community. So, what led to the cancellation of Netflix Stories? Here’s everything you need to know.

The news, first reported by Variety, is part of a wider strategic shift within Netflix Games. The platform will now prioritize mobile titles across categories like party games, children's games, mainstream releases, and more interactive experiences playable on TV.

Boss Fight Entertainment, the studio behind the Netflix Stories series, will continue to develop other projects, including Squid Game: Unleashed.

Netflix Stories Has Been Cancelled – But Is It Shutting Down?

Even amid some criticism, the game consistently ranked among Netflix's most-played titles. Recent reports place it fourth in the Netflix Games top 10 carousel, which tracks playtime rather than downloads.

As for the series' future, the final interactive title to be released will be Love Is Blind: NYC. Once that rollout is complete, no new Netflix Stories games will enter development. The announcement comes just after the Netflix Stories app had teased its upcoming title, The Love Contract, initially scheduled to launch on April 8.

Unlike earlier entries, The Love Contract wasn’t tied to any existing Netflix intellectual property. It was set to be an original romance about an actress entangled with a Hollywood celebrity and a billionaire—a story of fame, scandal, and a fake relationship. Now, however, the project has been shelved.

While no new titles are in the works, all existing Netflix Stories games will remain accessible. Players can still enjoy Love Is Blind, Emily in Paris, Money Heist, Love Is Blind: Winter’s Kiss, Perfect Match, Sex Education, Selling Sunset, Sweet Magnolias, Virgin River, and The Perfect Couple. However, planned sequels such as Outer Banks and Ginny & Georgia have been cancelled.

That wraps up the latest update. If you're a fan of Netflix shows, you can still check out these interactive stories on the Google Play Store.
