Microsoft Unveils Xbox Game Pass April 2025 Wave 1 Games

Microsoft has recently announced an exciting lineup of Xbox Game Pass titles that will be added to the service in the first half of April 2025. The roster includes a mix of first-party and third-party games such as South of Midnight, Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition, and Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition, among others.

This strong month of releases was detailed in a recent Xbox Wire post. The excitement begins tomorrow, April 3, with the addition of Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition (available on Cloud, Console, and PC) for all tiers. Additionally, All You Need Is Help (Console), Still Wakes the Deep (Xbox Series X | S), and Wargroove 2 (Console) will be available for Game Pass Standard subscribers. This initial wave of games promises to keep Xbox enthusiasts engaged throughout the month. However, the excitement doesn't stop there; just five days later, on April 8, South of Midnight (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X | S) and Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition (Console and PC) will be accessible to all Game Pass subscribers.

South of Midnight, developed by Compulsion Games, is set in the Deep South and offers a unique folklore adventure. Microsoft describes it as an opportunity to "Explore the mythos and confront mysterious creatures of the Deep South in this modern folktale while learning to weave an ancient power to surmount obstacles and face the pain haunting your hometown." This game is expected to be one of the standout releases of the year on Xbox, and its inclusion in Game Pass will likely attract a large number of players eager to dive into its world.

Following closely, on April 9, Commandos: Origins (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X | S) will be added for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The next day, April 10, will see Blue Prince (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X | S) joining these tiers. Finally, on April 15, Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PC) will be available for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, rounding out the first wave of April 2025 additions.

In addition to the new games, Xbox Game Pass perks are also being refreshed for the first half of April 2025. Notable perks include the Beyond the Void Bundle for The First Descendant, the Sweet Starter Pack for Candy Crush Solitaire on mobile devices, and an anniversary Seventh Serving Emote for Sea of Thieves fans. As new games join the service, some titles will be leaving Game Pass on April 15. Players interested in these games should take note, as they will lose access to them on that date. However, Microsoft offers a 20% discount for members looking to purchase these games before they exit the service.
