Mass Effect Voice Actress Wants Original Cast to Return for TV Series

Jennifer Hale, the iconic voice of FemShep in the original Mass Effect trilogy, expresses her enthusiasm for Amazon's upcoming live-action adaptation. She's eager to participate in the series, suggesting it would be a shrewd move to bring back as many original voice actors as possible.

Amazon secured the rights to adapt the Mass Effect games in 2021, and the TV series is now under development at Amazon MGM Studios. The project boasts a notable team, including Michael Gamble (Mass Effect project leader), Karim Zreik (former Marvel Television producer), Avi Arad (movie producer), and Daniel Casey (Fast & Furious 9 writer).

The challenge of adapting Mass Effect's branching narrative and customizable protagonist, Commander Shepard, is significant. Players have formed strong attachments to their personalized Shepards, raising questions about how the live-action series will handle this.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Hale voiced her desire to be involved, regardless of the role. She highlighted the exceptional talent within the voice acting community, advocating for their inclusion in the adaptation. She stated, "The voice acting community are some of the most brilliant performers I've ever met [...] So I'm ready for the smart production company that stops overlooking that gold mine.”

Hale naturally favors a live-action portrayal reflecting her FemShep, but emphasizes her excitement about any role in the show or a potential return in future BioWare games.

The Mass Effect universe boasts a memorable cast of voice actors and celebrities. Seeing the return of actors like Brandon Keener (Garrus Vakarian), Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan Alenko), or Hale herself would undoubtedly delight long-time fans of the series.
