Krysten Ritter is officially reprising her role as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
According to Variety, the news broke during today’s Disney Upfront event in New York City. Ritter’s return was confirmed alongside a wave of new updates about the upcoming season. This announcement comes after months of speculation that the Disney+ series might bring back multiple heroes from the former Netflix corner of the Marvel universe. Fans have long hoped for a seamless transition of these characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and this marks a significant step forward.
Ritter joined Daredevil himself, played by Charlie Cox, on stage to share her enthusiasm for returning to the character.
“I’m thrilled to be back as Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders, and now stepping fully into the MCU,” Ritter said. “Bringing this iconic character back means a lot, and without giving too much away, there are some exciting plans ahead for Jessica Jones. It’s going to be an incredible season!”

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life when the show’s debut season launched on Netflix in 2015. Two additional seasons followed, along with the team-up series The Defenders. As the Netflix Marvel era faded, so did hopes of seeing Ritter reprise the role—until now.
In 2021, Disney [ttpp] regained full rights to several key characters, including Jessica Jones. Around the same time, Charlie Cox returned to the fold with a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and later, his own role in Daredevil: Born Again. Fans quickly speculated whether the revival could pave the way for other Netflix-based heroes to enter the MCU.
With Frank Castle (Punisher) playing a major role in Season 1, it only makes sense for Jessica Jones to return in Season 2.
Ritter last portrayed Jessica in the third season of her self-titled show, which debuted in 2019. Her recent comments hint at even more appearances in the future, but for now, fans can look forward to her presence in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While no official release date has been set, showrunner Dario Scardapane has hinted that viewers should expect new episodes by March 2026.
