Hollow Knight: Silksong price, launch date revealed

Author: Hunter Oct 30,2025

Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch at an affordable $19.99 price point.

Following recent speculation — including a temporary $20 listing on GameStop (later removed) that matched reports from reputable leaker Billbil-kun — developer Team Cherry has officially verified the pricing. The anticipated sequel will cost $19.99 in North America, €19.99 across Europe, and ¥2300 in Japan.

This competitive pricing stands out starkly against industry trends, where major publishers increasingly test higher price thresholds. Xbox recently attempted an $80 launch price for The Outer Worlds 2, breaking the emerging $70 standard, but quickly adjusted down following consumer backlash.

The studio also confirmed global unlock times: 7am PT / 10am ET / 4pm CEST / 11pm JST.

After years of anticipation, Team Cherry revealed Hollow Knight: Silksong's September 4, 2025 release date during gamescom alongside an action-packed trailer showcasing Hornet's adventures through diverse environments — from eerie graveyards and foggy marshes to vibrant cities. The gameplay footage introduced new NPCs, formidable bosses, and thrilling escape sequences reminiscent of Ori. The sequel hits PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series consoles.

Coinciding with this news, the original Hollow Knight achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing 15 million lifetime sales — an extraordinary accomplishment for an indie title. Notably, SteamDB data shows the eight-year-old game recently broke its all-time concurrent player records, peaking above 70,000 simultaneous players.

While Silksong dominates Steam wishlists, does the gameplay deliver? Our hands-on preview tested two diverse demo areas — the approachable Moss Grotto and punishing Deep Docks — revealing whether Team Cherry's sequel justifies its tremendous hype.
