Halloween Haunt: Hangry Morpeko Unleashed in Pokémon GO!

Pokémon GO's Halloween festivities are about to begin, and Niantic has unveiled the details for Part 1 of the event (with a Part 2 to follow!). Get ready for exciting features and spooky Pokémon encounters.

The Pokémon GO Halloween event runs from Tuesday, October 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. local time, until Monday, October 28th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Event Highlights:

Morpeko makes its Pokémon GO debut! This Electric/Dark-type Pokémon introduces unique battle mechanics, particularly effective against Team GO Rocket and in GO Battle League. Morpeko's Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode shift mid-battle based on its Charged Attack, altering its Aura Wheel move from Electric to Dark type while maintaining its 100 power and Attack boost.

During the event, encounter rates for Morpeko are increased in the GO Battle League's premium track, and it remains available from Rank 16 onwards, though more frequent in the premium track.

Festive Atmosphere & Features:

The game will feature special Halloween decorations, and a remix of the classic Lavender Town theme music will play nightly.

Dynamax Gastly appears in one-star Max Battles, alongside Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

A free Timed Research event, focusing on Spiritomb and its 108 spirits, runs from October 22nd to November 3rd. Completing tasks rewards encounters with Halloween-themed Pokémon, including Spiritomb and Morpeko.
