Analyst Matthew Ball's controversial suggestion that a $100 price point for AAA titles could revitalize the gaming industry sparked a debate. To gauge player sentiment, a survey was conducted, revealing surprising results. Over one-third of nearly 7,000 respondents indicated a willingness to pay $100 for a standard edition of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, despite the industry trend towards more expensive, expanded editions.

Ball's assertion, which recently gained significant online traction, posited that a price increase could be a positive change for the industry, with Rockstar and Take-Two potentially leading the way.

Rockstar's announced 2025 updates for Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online aim to bring the PC version in line with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. While specifics remain undisclosed, the improvements likely extend beyond mere visual enhancements.

The possibility of expanding the GTA+ subscription service to PC players, currently exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, is also being considered. Furthermore, PC users may soon gain access to features currently absent on their platform, such as Hao's premium car modifications that unlock extreme vehicle speeds. The introduction of this advanced turbo-tuning to the PC version is a strong possibility.
