Gran Turismo and Forza's main competitor Assetto Corsa EVO is released today

Get ready, racing fans! Assetto Corsa EVO, from Kunos Simulazioni Studios, hits Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025.

This initial release boasts a strong foundation: 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks—Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka—await. Despite being in Early Access, expect highly refined physics, precise handling, and remarkably realistic car behavior.

A standout feature is the free-roaming mode, offering unparalleled freedom. A significant summer 2025 update promises a massive addition: a fully laser-scanned open world encompassing the legendary Nürburgring and its surrounding roads, spanning a breathtaking 1600 square kilometers, with further expansion planned.

Assetto Corsa EVO boldly positions itself as a premier driving simulator, directly challenging established titans like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. This is achieved through photorealistic visuals and cutting-edge physics.

The full game, at launch, is projected to include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with continuous free content updates promised. Expect hyper-realistic track conditions, from tire wear to wet surfaces, and engaging animated spectators.

Kunos Simulazioni has also meticulously refined vehicle dynamics, suspension, and shock absorption. Early Access will feature Driving Academy mode, a single-player experience where mastering specific tracks within time limits earns you a license to unlock top-tier vehicles.
