Compared to the previous generation, the RTX 5070 delivers performance comparable to the RTX 4070 Super. While we hoped for a more significant leap in raw performance, the RTX 4070 Super was already an excellent choice for 1080p and 1440p gaming. It launched at $599.99, just $10 less than this Gigabyte 5070 model. However, this comparison is largely moot, as finding an RTX 4070 Super at or near its original price is nearly impossible. The RTX 5070 does offer visual and performance advantages over the RTX 4070 Super in titles that support DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation, making it a more future-proof investment that will benefit from ongoing driver optimizations.
