The boom time continues at Warhammer 40,000 maker Games Workshop, which has announced it's handing out £20 million (approximately $27 million) to its staff as a bonus. The Nottingham, UK-based company, renowned for its Warhammer tabletop games and expansive settings, reported a stellar performance for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025. Core revenue soared to £560 million, up from £494.7 million in the previous period. Licensing revenue also saw a significant increase, reaching £50 million from £31 million. Core profit climbed to £210 million from £174.8 million, and licensing profit rose to £45 million from £27 million, culminating in a profit before tax of £255 million, a rise from £203 million.

In light of these impressive profits and "in recognition of our staff's contribution to these results," Games Workshop is distributing £20 million among its employees, an increase from the £18 million bonus given last year. The bonus will be evenly distributed among all staff members. With an estimated 1,500 employees, this means each individual could receive approximately £13,333 (about $18,000).

Games Workshop's primary business revolves around the sale of miniatures that fans assemble and paint for use in tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000. However, the company is increasingly becoming an IP powerhouse, generating substantial revenue from blockbuster video games such as last year's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and animations like Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level episode. Additionally, last year, Games Workshop and Amazon finalized a deal for Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe, which will lead to the creation of films and television series. Space Marine 3 is also currently in development.

Looking ahead, Games Workshop noted that while licensing revenue reached a record high during the period, it does not anticipate the same level of success in 2025/26, though licensing remains a core focus. The Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer franchises are currently more popular than ever, and these results indicate that the momentum is unlikely to wane soon.

Games Workshop recently hosted its annual Warhammer Skulls showcase, where they unveiled several exciting announcements and trailers. Key highlights included a Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and the introduction of Siege mode for Space Marine 2.
