Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced
Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. Set during the show's fourth season, the game promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.
The closed beta, running from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers fans an early look at the game before its full release later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.
Kingsroad features class-based progression with "fully manual" controls, allowing players to command characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon. The game boasts an original storyline centered around a new character, heir to House Tyrell, residing in the North. The visuals and combat are described as engaging, offering a compelling mobile Game of Thrones experience.
Announced in November 2024 and further highlighted at The Game Awards, Kingsroad leverages the rich lore and character narratives established by George R.R. Martin and the HBO series. Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, promises "raw, aggressive, and destructive" combat.
The over-one-minute gameplay trailer showcases class-based progression and fully manual controls. Inspiration for original characters is drawn from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men. The game's arrival offers a significant addition to the Game of Thrones gaming landscape, providing fans with entertainment while they await the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter.
