S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Navigating "Just Like the Good Old Days"

"Just Like the Good Old Days" is a pivotal main mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, following the completion of either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order." Your choices in the preceding "Wishful Thinking" mission will influence the initial stages. This guide details completing this mission.

I. Locating Professor Lodochka (Wild Island)

Begin by proceeding to the mission marker on Wild Island, leading you to Professor Lodochka at Quite’s Camp. Expect an immediate encounter: eliminate the mercenaries indicated on your map. These enemies are clearly marked, simplifying the initial engagement. Note that this is not the only combat encounter in this mission; prepare accordingly. After clearing the area, a path to Lodochka will be revealed. An optional objective, activating the ventilation system, will become available.

II. Activating the Ventilation System (Optional)

This optional objective simplifies later stages. Locate the marked fuse on your map. After retrieving it, a new marker will appear, directing you to the engineering rooms. Be prepared for an invisible enemy within the shelter. Navigate the passageways to the engine room and use the fuse to restore power to the ventilation system.

Completing this side objective offers no unique rewards but enhances subsequent mission progression.

III. Finding the Signal Source

Before proceeding, consider acquiring superior weaponry. The upcoming challenges demand it. Head to the marked cave entrance near the water. Navigate the western cavern path, descending and traversing various obstacles. Utilize a broken pipe to reach higher cave levels.

Locate the large cone-shaped spire. The Emitter is situated at the marked point beside the spire. An invisible enemy awaits on your return journey; be vigilant. Finally, return to Professor Lodochka to complete the mission and unlock "Hornet's Nest," the next main mission.
