BioWare has largely shifted its focus away from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but the dedicated team still working on the game has surprised fans with a new, small DLC weapons pack. The unexpected update to the game's Steam page revealed the Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer, a free add-on that has sparked excitement among Dragon Age enthusiasts. This move comes as a pleasant surprise, especially after EA had hinted that Dragon Age: The Veilguard would receive minimal future support. With the fifth patch in January promising to focus on fixing game-breaking bugs, the introduction of new content, albeit modest, feels like a small miracle.

The Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer is exclusively available to current owners of the game and those who purchase it on PC before April 8, 2025. Although the exact contents of the bundle remain undisclosed, the community has discovered that it includes a set of Watchful skins, accessible in the Rook's in-game room. It's uncertain whether this offer will extend to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of the game.

Feedback from players has been overwhelmingly positive. One Steam review remarked, “Even if these appearances aren't the most, uh, beautiful things ever, they do give spooky eldritch horror vibes!” Meanwhile, a comment on Reddit stated, "It's cosmetic DLC, but it's essentially free DLC for a game that's practically no longer getting newer content. Dragon Age: The Veilguard received positive reviews upon its launch in October, yet according to EA, it did not capture a wide enough audience. Subsequently, lead members of the development team announced their departure from BioWare in late January, with many staff members either being laid off or reassigned within the company. EA confirmed to IGN that the studio was now fully focused on the next installment of the Mass Effect series.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was added to the PlayStation Plus March 2025 titles just four months after its release. Currently, no additional plans for the game's future have been disclosed.
