Patch 2.3 Arrives June 26

CD Projekt Red continues its dedication to Cyberpunk 2077 with an imminent update revealed during their June 5 REDstreams broadcast. While celebrating the game's Switch 2 release, the developers announced Patch 2.3 launching June 26, promising more details in an upcoming livestream.

Marcin Momot, CDPR's Global Community Director, reinforced this announcement through social media, encouraging fans to watch for updates. Pawel Sasko, Associate Game Director, hinted they've secretly been working on substantial changes.

The Never-ending Final Update?

The studio's history with so-called "final updates" suggests caution about Patch 2.3 being truly the last. Developers joked during the latest REDstreams about their inability to stop improving the game as they transition focus to Cyberpunk 2.

Following December 2023's Ultimate Edition launch alongside Patch 2.1 (branded as the "last big update"), CDPR surprised players with another significant update - Patch 2.2 in December 2024 featuring new customization options.

This pattern mirrors CDPR's handling of The Witcher 3, where the December 2022 next-gen update claimed to be final, only for Patch 4.04 to arrive in July 2023. Recently, CDPR announced plans for an actual final update celebrating The Witcher 3's anniversary with cross-platform mod support.

With Cyberpunk 2 in pre-production and The Witcher 4 making tech demo progress, CDPR appears ready to conclude support for legacy titles. Currently, players can experience Cyberpunk 2077's complete journey, now including Switch 2 compatibility since June 5, 2025.
