This week, IGN had the chance to play Mario Kart World at a Nintendo event in New York, and they confirmed a delightful detail: the new Moo Moo Meadows Cow character can indeed indulge in a variety of foods, including burgers and steak.

For those not in the loop, Mario Kart World recently introduced the Moo Moo Meadows Cow as a playable racer, sparking excitement and creativity across the internet with memes and fanart celebrating this beloved background character's promotion.

However, the announcement also raised some eyebrows. In the Nintendo Direct 2 trailer, Mario was seen eating a burger, which led fans to wonder if Cow, whose kind is typically associated with beef, would also partake in such fare. The curiosity was palpable: could Cow eat beef?

At the Nintendo event, IGN discovered the answer. In Mario Kart World, racers can stop by Yoshi's diner locations on the courses, which function like drive-thrus where you can grab take-out bags similar to item boxes. Inside these bags, you can find various food items such as burgers, steak kebabs, pizza, and donuts.

And yes, Cow can enjoy them all. IGN shared a tweet confirming that Cow can indeed eat steak in Mario Kart World. During their session, they also observed Cow consuming a burger. Interestingly, while other racers undergo costume changes after eating these items, Cow seems unaffected. This raises questions about whether Cow is eating for enjoyment, or if there's an unrevealed power-up linked to her consumption.

IGN reached out to Nintendo for clarity on this intriguing matter but hasn't received a response yet. They're probably swamped at the New York event, and not dodging what might seem like an eccentric query.
