Dark/Dragon-type Hydreigon ranks among the most powerful Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet. To obtain this formidable creature, trainers should first capture its pre-evolved forms: Deino and Zweilous. While these Pokemon appear exclusively in Scarlet, Violet players can acquire them through trading or transfers.
Updated January 13, 2025: Since its debut in Gen 5, the Deino evolutionary line has remained a staple across mainline Pokemon games. This guide has been refreshed with current Hydreigon statistics and battle strategies to assist trainers in maximizing this pseudo-legendary's potential.

Deino and Zweilous Locations
In Scarlet, Deino appears in several locations including Alfornada Cavern, Dalizapa Passage, Glaseado Mountain, Area Zero, and North Province (Area Two). The cavern and passage locations require special traversal abilities:
- Alfornada Cavern: Southwest Paldea - requires Koraidon's high jump
- Dalizapa Passage: Between Medali and Zapapico
Deino also appears in 3-star Tera Raids (unlocked after 3 gym badges), while its evolved form Zweilous appears in 4-star raids. Fully evolved Hydreigon can be caught in 5/6-star raids.
