Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Title Update 1

Author: Isabella May 13,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests designed to encourage competition based on fast clear times. In anticipation of this update, Capcom has issued a strong statement against cheating, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment for all players.

In a recent post on the Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter, Capcom made it clear that they will not tolerate any fraudulent activity: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." This warning serves as a reminder to all players to engage in honest gameplay.

Capcom also highlighted that the consequences of cheating extend beyond the individual cheater. Players participating in multiplayer hunts with cheaters could face penalties as well, including invalid quest completion times and revoked rewards for the entire party. "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," Capcom advised. They encouraged players to report any instances of fraudulent activity they encounter during quests.

The new quests will offer appealing rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. Some of these rewards will be distributed to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. Given the significance of these rewards, it's understandable that Capcom is taking a firm stance against cheating to ensure the integrity of the competition and the fairness of reward distribution.

These Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja, available after completing a special tutorial mission. Make sure to head to the Grand Hub as soon as Title Update 1 becomes available tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more details, check out the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 patch notes.
