Treyarch is marking 115 Day with a treasure trove of announcements for *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies*, highlighted by the unveiling of a new map dubbed The Tomb. This January 15 celebration is a special holiday for *Call of Duty* players, featuring a detailed blog post that delves into all the zombie-themed surprises on the horizon. The headliner is The Tomb, a sandy new Zombies map set to launch with Season 2 on January 28. Following closely on the heels of Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, this new addition to the Zombies universe is just around the corner.

According to Treyarch, the story behind The Tomb follows the survivors of the harrowing events at Citadelle des Morts—Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya—as they heed Gabriel Krafft's last words to an excavation site to retrieve the Sentinel Artifact. Constructed over ancient burial grounds with origins tracing back to 2500 B.C.E., these catacombs remained untouched until the early 1900s, hinting at deeper mysteries beneath the surface.

The team described The Tomb as an enigmatic locale linked to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though they kept details about its connection to the broader Zombies narrative under wraps. Gameplay-wise, this new map promises an experience akin to Liberty Falls, featuring compact spaces and a focus on replayability, filled with Easter eggs waiting to be uncovered.

Treyarch teased a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by past entries and the return of an iconic SMG, though specifics remain elusive. Season 2 will also bring a suite of quality-of-life enhancements, including the ability to track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer modes. Zombies mode will introduce a co-op pause feature, enabling the party leader to pause during a match. HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be separated, and players can now rejoin Zombies matches with their loadouts if disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, *Black Ops 6* players can enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double XP for players, weapons, and the battle pass until 10am PT on January 21. Treyarch also shared insights into the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing that players have invested over 480 million hours into *Black Ops 6 Zombies*. "Our goal from the start for Directed Mode was to expand the Zombies community by guiding new players through the Main Quests with some guardrails, so they can experience the storyline and hopefully become lifelong Zombies fans," the team stated. Since its launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has surged from 3.38% to 8.23%.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the voices of the Zombies characters in The Tomb, especially after Activision announced last month that some beloved characters were recast due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
