Snapchat's 2024 Snap Recap: A Year in Review

Looking back on the past year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is no exception with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature.

What is Snap Recap?

Unlike last year, 2024 marks the debut of Snapchat's Snap Recap. Similar to Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps, it compiles your year's Snapchat activity into a fun, visual summary. However, instead of detailed statistics, Snap Recap showcases a single Snap from each month, offering a curated glimpse into your 2024. The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from previous years.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is simple. On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (avoiding the camera button). Your recap should appear as a highlighted video at the top of the Memories menu.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view it. The selected photos and videos play automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap is missing, remember that Snapchat is rolling these out gradually. Your recap might simply not be ready yet. Snapchat also mentions that several factors determine recap eligibility, including the number of saved Snaps. Infrequent Snapchat use might be another reason. Unfortunately, if you don't receive a recap after waiting, you can't request one.
