Hexanaut.io is an IO game focused on claiming the largest possible territory. Your main goal is to expand your domain while avoiding cutting your own line or being cut by rivals. The map features special totems you can capture for powerful bonuses. How much land can you dominate? Test your skills in this ultimate territory-control game.

HOW TO PLAY HEXANAUT

Control your cursor with the mouse to navigate the map. Venture outside your owned area to draw a line and begin claiming new land. Return to your territory to close the loop and capture all the enclosed tiles.

Leaving your territory comes with risks. While outside, if another player crosses your trail, you will be eliminated and forced to restart.

Aim to control 20% of the map to earn the title of Hexanaut. If you can maintain over 20% territory for two full minutes after achieving this rank, you win the game.

Warning: if you are eliminated while an opponent is a Hexanaut, you cannot respawn.

CAPTURING TOTEMS

Hexanaut.io features five unique totems to capture. Seize them whenever it's safe, as each provides a distinct advantage to help you dominate the map and achieve victory.

SPREADING TOTEM

The Spreading Totem is the only totem that directly captures hexes for you. Once activated, it emits lasers that claim adjacent tiles one by one. This is particularly valuable early in the game when expanding is challenging.

SPEED TOTEM

The Speed Totem boosts your movement speed by 5%. While this seems minor, the effect stacks with multiple totems, making a significant difference. Prioritize collecting these for a noticeable edge.

TELEPORTING GATE

Teleporting Gates provide instant travel across the map. They are incredibly useful for quickly navigating large territories or launching surprise attacks. Instead of traversing your entire domain, use a gate to save time and catch opponents off guard, especially when they are attacking a remote part of your land.

SLOWING TOTEM

The Slowing Totem creates a zone that drastically reduces the speed of any other player who enters. This gives you a massive mobility advantage, allowing you to easily eliminate trapped opponents. Avoid enemy slow zones, as challenging an opponent there is highly disadvantageous.

SPY DISH

The Spy Dish reveals the location of all other players' territories. This intelligence becomes crucial as your empire grows, helping you identify which areas are under attack and need immediate defense against opportunistic rivals.

Hexanaut is categorized as an IO game, which blends real players and AI-controlled bots in the same large lobbies. This system ensures fast matchmaking without requiring a massive number of concurrent human players.
