The objective in Hearts is to finish with the lowest score. You must follow the leading suit (such as Clubs) if you can. If you cannot, you may play any card—but remember, you cannot lead with a Heart or the Queen of Spades on the very first trick. The player who lays down the highest card of the suit that was led wins the trick and leads the next one. For each Heart in a trick you win, you receive 1 point, and the Queen of Spades costs you 13 points. However, if a player manages to capture all the Hearts and the Queen of Spades (known as Shooting the Moon), that player scores zero, while all others are penalized 26 points! The game concludes as soon as any player reaches or exceeds 100 points.
