Forward Chess

Forward Chess combines the experience of reading a book and playing on a chessboard, all in the palm of your hand!

Forward Chess is an interactive chess book reader that lets you study the book, follow its lines, and explore your own variations. At any moment, you can bring up the built-in Stockfish engine—one of the world's strongest chess engines—to assess either the book’s recommended moves or your own ideas. It's like carrying a chess book, a board, and a powerful analysis tool wherever you go.

A standout feature of Forward Chess is its user-friendly design. The engineers have included easy-to-reach “Previous” and “Next” buttons so you can navigate moves quickly, plus a one-tap snap-to-position function that lets you jump to any move instantly. The resizable diagrams are also gentle on the eyes.

For broader navigation, you can jump directly to chapters, scroll smoothly within a single chapter, and easily explore complex variation trees.

Forward Chess now supports creating, editing, and deleting your personal notes. You can also place multiple bookmarks in each book.

Forward Chess offers titles from top chess publishers, including Quality Chess, Chess Stars, Russell Enterprises, Chess Informant, New In Chess, and Mongoose Press.

You’ll find dozens of recent releases from these publishers in the Forward Chess bookstore. Several free sample books are available so you can take the app for a test drive right away.

Forward Chess will help push your chess training to the next level!
