How to play Batak Trump Spades.
Number of players: 4.
The game uses a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 13 cards. All spades are designated as trump cards.
In Swamp Trump Spades, the trump suit is always spades.
The goal is to predict how many tricks you can take at the start of the round and try to win at least that many.
Starting with the player to the dealer’s right, each player states the number of tricks they expect to take, and this is recorded on the scoreboard.
Gameplay:
The next player leads with any card if none is on the table; if a card is already played, they must follow suit if possible.
If the player cannot follow suit, they may play a trump card; otherwise, they may play any remaining card.
Scoring:
After each round, players earn points based on their initial bid and the number of tricks actually won.
If they meet or exceed their committed number of tricks:
10 × Committed tricks + (Tricks won - Committed tricks) points.
If they win fewer tricks than committed:
-10 × Committed tricks points.
If a player bids zero tricks at the start of the round:
They score +50 points for taking no tricks, or -50 points if they win any trick.
Settling occurs when you do not achieve your bid by the end of the game.
