Application Description

Training system designed by the world's foremost chess trainer – Mark Dvoretsky

Mark Dvoretsky is recognized as the world's premier chess coach. His students have repeatedly won World and European youth championships, later earning Grandmaster titles. Notable pupils like Artur Yusupov, Nana Aleksandria, Sergey Dolmatov, and Aleksey Dreev even competed in World Championship Candidates matches. Much of the success behind Soviet Grandmasters can be traced to Dvoretsky’s effective training methodology and his unique collection of exercise cards. These exercises include deeply instructive positional lessons as well as drills aimed at cultivating key practical skills—such as optimal search techniques and accurate decision-making. For instance, the exercises help sharpen positional intuition, boost imagination, refine calculation skills, master trap-setting, and learn how to trade pieces advantageously at critical moments. Until recently, this cardfile system was exclusive to a select group of his students. After extensive work in digitizing, organizing, and validating the content, it’s now accessible to every ambitious chess player. It's especially valuable for advanced players—from experts to grandmasters. The digital platform allows you to apply modern training approaches that were previously inaccessible or only available through direct coaching. This system brings world-class material to players and coaches alike, designed to support growth for years and significantly raise playing strength. The course contains 200 hand-picked exercises for expert, master, and advanced players (ELO 2000–2400), covering these key topics: Strategy and Planning, Calculation of Variations, Endgame Technique, and Defending Difficult Positions.

This course is part of the Chess King Learn series (https://learn.chessking.com/), an innovative chess education platform. The series offers lessons in tactics, strategy, openings, middlegame, and endgame, tailored to all skill levels—from novices to professionals.

Using this course will strengthen your chess understanding, introduce new tactical ideas and combinations, and help apply what you’ve learned in practical play.
