Pesten With Cards

Pesten With Cards is a traditional Dutch card game, also known as Bullying With Cards.

Pesten With Cards is a beloved Dutch card game, literally translating to Bullying With Cards. Similar games exist worldwide, such as Mau-Mau, Crazy Eights, Shedding, Puque, Чешский Дурак, Фараон, Крокодил, Tschau Sepp, or Uno. The objective is to be the first to discard all your cards. To win, you must announce "Last Card" before playing your final card. Failure to do so results in a penalty—drawing two additional cards.

The game can be played with multiple decks, including jokers. Each player receives seven cards, while the rest form a face-down stock pile. The top card is revealed face-up at the start, and play proceeds clockwise. Note: If a "Pest-card" appears first, it must be executed as though the dealer played it.

On your turn, you must play a card matching either the number or suit of the top card. Jokers and Jacks are exceptions, as they can be played on any card. If unable to play, draw from the stock. If the drawn card is playable, you may choose to use it immediately or keep it.

-Last card

When down to your last card, click the "Last Card" button to alert opponents. Forgetting this before playing your final card forfeits the win—you’ll draw two penalty cards instead. Misusing the button also incurs a two-card penalty. You may press the button anytime, even out of turn, to ensure timely notification.

To win, your final card cannot be a special card (details below).

-Special Cards

Certain cards trigger specific actions, customizable in game settings due to regional variations:

- Joker

Forces the next player to draw five cards. Playing another joker escalates this to ten cards, adding +5 per joker. Drawn cards cannot be played—turn passes immediately.

- Two

Next player draws two cards. Chaining twos doubles the penalty (+2 per two). Optionally, a joker can override this, adding five cards instead. Twos cannot counter jokers. Drawn cards are unplayable.

- Seven

Play another card immediately. If this leaves you with one card, remember to announce "Last Card." Failure to play results in drawing from the stock.

- Eight

Skips the next player’s turn. In two-player mode, this lets you play again (similar to Seven).

- Ten

All players pass one card left. Select the card to...
