Shift Up is spreading holiday cheer in Xion starting December 17th. New Christmas costumes, decorations, and a mini-game await!

Eve and other characters receive festive makeovers:

• Rudolph Pack (Drone)
• I'm No Santa (Adam)

Complete Eve's look with the Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.

Xion Gets a Festive Facelift and a Mini-Game

Xion transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive a holiday makeover, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").

A new mini-game adds to the fun. Details are scarce, but targeting a holiday drone promises special rewards for Eve.

Control Your Holiday Spirit: Seasonal Content Toggle

The update introduces an option to enable/disable seasonal events (including the Nier:Automata DLC) in the game's Settings under Gameplay. Choose from:

• Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
• Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
• Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a restart from your most recent save.

Mixed Reception: A Celebration with Concerns

Following the December 16th announcement, the update received largely positive feedback, with many fans playfully calling Eve "Christmas Eve." However, some questioned the frequency of event updates for a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content also drew criticism. Many players felt the short playtime necessitates a restart to fully enjoy the seasonal content.
