Starfield, Bethesda's space RPG, gets a galactic upgrade with a new Creation mod introducing iconic Star Wars lightsabers. The recently released Starfield Creation Kit empowers players to share creative content, resulting in a surge of mods, particularly those inspired by the Star Wars universe.
While numerous Star Wars mods already enhance Starfield with everything from Mandalorian armor to AT-ST enemies, the arrival of the Creation Club has amplified this influx. This includes cosmetic additions, new alien species, and even a mod recreating elements from the canceled Star Wars 1313, featuring Boba Fett.
Now, players can wield lightsabers thanks to SomberKing's free Immersive Sabers mod. This mod introduces three distinct lightsabers – the Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and the Arboron Novabeam Saber – complete with authentic sound effects, customizable beam colors, and workbench upgrades. A new perk even enhances lightsaber deflection.
Immersive Sabers Mod Brings Star Wars to Starfield
The mod doesn't limit lightsaber use to the player; they can also be looted from enemies. While canonically crafted by individual Jedi, the mod cleverly integrates them into Starfield's lore by attributing their creation to in-game weapon manufacturers. SomberKing plans to expand the mod with three more lightsabers from Laredo Firearms, Allied Armaments, and Kore Kinetics.
The recent release of the Creation Kit and game updates, including city maps and ship customization, have significantly boosted player enthusiasm for Starfield. However, Bethesda's approach to paid mods remains controversial, particularly the paywall for completing the Trackers Alliance questline. Despite this, upcoming content like the Shattered Space expansion and a deeper exploration of House Va'ruun promise to keep players engaged throughout the year.
