Rocksteady Faces Ongoing Impact from

Rocksteady Studios, the creator of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, announced further layoffs in late 2024, impacting programmers, artists, and testers. This follows September's layoffs which halved the testing team's size.

The studio faced significant hurdles in 2024, struggling to maintain Suicide Squad despite its poor reception. Warner Bros. reported project losses of approximately $200 million. Consequently, no further updates were planned for 2025, although servers will remain active.

These cuts weren't isolated to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. Games studio, also experienced layoffs, shedding 99 employees in December.

The game's early access release exacerbated the situation. Players encountered numerous bugs, including server outages and a major plot spoiler revealed through a glitch. Gameplay also drew considerable criticism from reviewers and players alike, leading to a massive surge in refund requests—a 791% increase according to McLuck analytics.

Rocksteady's future projects remain unannounced.
