Sphere Defense: A Minimalist Tower Defense Experience Now Available

Developer Tomoki Fukushima has launched Sphere Defense, a captivating tower defense game where players protect Earth from waves of enemies. While the core gameplay remains true to the tower defense genre—strategic unit placement and resource management are key to survival—Sphere Defense distinguishes itself with its minimalist aesthetic and vibrant neon visuals.

The game challenges players to strategically position their defenses to repel incoming attacks. Each successful wave yields resources used to upgrade units and enhance defenses. Difficulty increases progressively, rewarding skillful players with high scores for completing levels without taking damage.

Fukushima cites geoDefense, a tower defense game by David Whatley, as a major inspiration. He states, "This game was developed as a homage to 'geoDefense', a tower defence game created over 10 years ago by David Whatley. When I played 'geoDefense', I was deeply impressed by how such a simple game could be so fun and beautiful."
